🚛 Trash & Recycling Services
The Village of East Alton contracts with Republic Services to provide residential trash collection and recycling services. Below is everything you need to know about your service, collection schedules, and who to contact for assistance.
🗑️ Trash Collection

Collection Day: Every Friday (holiday weeks may delay collection; please check out the calendars for more information by clicking HERE).

Trash Cart: Each residence is provided one 95-gallon rolling trash cart by Republic Services.

Bulk Item Pickup: Each household is eligible for two free bulk pickups per calendar year. Bulk pickups must be scheduled in advance by calling Republic Services at 618-656-6883.
The Village no longer conducts an annual Spring Clean-Up, as this benefit is now included with Republic Services.To view more information on a bulk pickup, along with a list of acceptable and unacceptable items, please CLICK HERE.-
Additional Carts: Need more capacity? Additional trash carts are available through Republic Services for an additional quarterly fee (billed directly from Republic). Contact Republic Services for pricing and delivery.

Recycling Cart: Residents should continue using the light blue 65-gallon recycling carts previously provided by the Village.

Need another cart or a bigger cart? Residents may request a replacement cart to a larger 95-gallon cart for no additional cost. Please contact Republic Services at 618-656-6883 for the request. Additional carts may also be ordered from Republic Services for an additional quarterly fee (billed directly from Republic).

🌿 Yard Waste & Drop-Off Center

Yard Waste Collection continues to be provided by the Village of East Alton Street Department and is not part of our Republic Services contract.

Drop-Off Center remains open year-round for approved items. For hours and rates, visit the East Alton Street Division Information page.
💰 Residential Service Rate
Residential trash service is billed at $44.00 per billing cycle (every 2 months) and is included on your Village of Eastg Alton Water Department utility bill.
If you have additional trash carts through Republic Services, those charges will be billed separately by Republic Services on a quarterly basis.
